LOVING this article on The Lorax… I haven’t seen this movie yet but now I REALLY want to. Thank you Jeffrey

There’s a lot to praise—and even love—in the latest animated adaptation of Theodor Geisel’s work. Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax is a beautiful and entirely captivating visual feast, with cuteness and adorability in charming excess. Yet it’s almost done in by one of the most ham-fisted examples of didactic liberalism to come out of any major studio release for quite some time (animated or otherwise).
I stress “almost” because its strengths not only save it but actually transcend its moralizing. This is a treat to be indulged in the theaters, and in 3D. I dare say it’s a major accomplishment in modern animation. The Lorax’s optical “wow” factor is high and occasionally off-the-charts. But as the film progresses, it builds from being a sensible parable about conservation to bald-faced demonizing of corporations….

something to aspire to… Thank you Google.
A review I did (and poster I merged together) a while back. This Trilogy was so great! I am looking forward to the coming American version but I have my doubts that it could actually match the amazingness of the original. We will see people… we will see.

So the deal has been completed. After 4 grueling hours of Sex And the City and 2 wonderful hours of The Princess Bride my friend and I have completed our tasks and are ready for another.
As I told you before my hatred for Sex And The City still stands but I am sure you have all been on the edge of your seats waiting for the illustrious PART II. What did your friend think of The Princess Bride!? He must have loved it! It’s so amazing, how could anyone not!?! Well, I’m still pretty positive that my hatred for Sex And The City is much stronger that his apathy toward any 80’s satire flick, but it seems my overly dramatic opinion still seems to be just that. Through a few giggles and a very brilliant “That’s What She Said” reference, my friend made it through the two hours with a review of “it’s a 6 out of 10” (what can I say he’s a man of few words).
Although his rating meter seems to be off a bit I will take that from my friend as a “the movie was amazing(ish)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Thank you my friend for suffering through greatness and for providing my roommate with hours of “entertainment” with me. At least now when everyone around you is quoting The Princess Bride you will be able to say with confidence that you know what that’s from.
I look forward to our next challenge.

THE PLAYBOY CLUB
a little too dramatic for my taste but I still like the concept and the story kept my interest so I’ll be trying it again. We shall see if it continues to impress me. I think I mostly just like looking at all the costumes and set designs.
