I wrote this song in one sitting on Jan 16th in about 20 minutes. An elderly family friend had just passed away after spending a couple years in a nursing home. With my 30th birthday fast approaching, and all the thoughts that come along with that, I was imagining that those “I can’t believe I’m old” thoughts ever really go away. So I put myself in the mind of an elderly gentlemen in a nursing home and it just hits him where he is and how much time has passed.
