SUNDAY MORNING CLICHES. This is so true… VIA COLLIDE MAGAZINE: “Sunday’s Coming” Movie Trailer from North Point Media on Vimeo. Kudos to the talented and creative media team at North Point for their work on the video. It’s entertaining and, judging by the positive feedback from people all over the church world, it’s also spot-on. But it also raises some tough questions, doesn’t it? Have our new ideas and approaches turned into methods that have turned into well-worn pathways that have turned into cliches? Are we too reliant on templates instead of originality? Are we taking the easy way out when we should be taking more risks? Are we (and our congregants) settling for what’s familiar? If so, at what cost? Those are questions that demand answers, no matter your role or organization. And regardless of the answers you come up with, Sunday’s coming. VIA ME: I REALLY APPRECIATE THE QUESTON : “Are we taking the easy way out when we should be taking more risks?” THIS IS SO TRUE FOR THOSE OF US WHO PLAN THE CREATIVE ASPECTS OF THE SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE. ARE WE BEING LAZY RATHER THAN DELVING INTO OUR TRUE CREATIVITY? ARE WE WILLING TO TAKE RISKS, EVEN IF WE ARE SCARED OF WHAT THE MAJORITY MAY SAY?
